Neal Briant is the alter ego and musical persona of Dr. Brian Hewlett.

Since his departure from the southwestern regional Reggae Rock Jam Band 8 Minutes to Burn out of Tucson, Arizona, he has performed numerous sit-ins with local and national bands and performed with a number of artists at numerous festival events including The Magic Beans at Tucson Arizona’s Wild Wild West Fest, with the Grateful Dead Tribute at Georgetown, Colorado’s Groove Festival, with Spafford at The Goat in Keystone, Colorado and with the founder of the Spread The Word Festival’s All Star Band in his current home town of Denver, Colorado.

He plays with various other musicians under the banner of Lineage Music, which the most recent iteration effectively highlights different percussionists from the Denver area.

Dr. L.I.F.E. welcomes requests to serve as a studio musician or sit-ins when someone is needed to “beat on anything that you can’t play!”
